Your Privacy Is Important to Us

Our company's goal is to serve your personal insurance needs. The information you provide when you apply for insurance or file a claim helps us achieve that goal. It enables us to provide coverage to you at the best price and to service you promptly and fairly. Your trust is our most important asset. This includes the trust that we will keep secure the information you provide to us and treat it only as permitted by law. This notice tells you about the policies we have adopted and the practices we use in handling the information you furnish to us.

Our Privacy Pledge

We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal and state standards to guard your nonpublic personal information. We restrict access to your nonpublic personal information to those employees who need to know it in order to provide products and services to you. We train our employees on how to handle and protect that information. We follow the same privacy policies and practices for former customers as are described in this notice.

Information We Collect

  • Directly from you (on insurance applications or other forms you fill out, or through telephone or in-person interviews), such as your name, address, telephone number, and Social Security number.
  • From your transactions with us, our affiliates or others, such as your premium payment history.
  • From third parties, including other companies or government agencies, such as your driving record or claims history.
  • From inspections or photos taken of your property, such as information about the value or condition of the property proposed for coverage.

Information We Disclose

We do not disclose nonpublic information about our customers or former customers, except as permitted by law. That means that we may share nonpublic personal information about you with companies related to us by common control or ownership affiliates. Our affiliates include financial service providers such as banks. These disclosures enable us to provide you with superior customer service and a broad range of financial products and services that we believe add value to your relationship with us. We may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties in certain other circumstances as permitted by law, such as third-party vendors, to assist us in servicing and/or processing information related to your insurance policies and claims, including insurance carriers, joint marketing arrangements and to government agencies. We do not share customer information with nonaffiliated third parties for their independent use to market their products.

Information Access & Correction

You have the right to request access to the personal information that we record about you, to have reasonable access to it and to receive a copy. To do so, contact us at:

Your request must include your complete name, address and date of birth, the type of policy held or applied for, and all policy numbers issued to you by us. Certain types of information collected when processing claims or involving pending litigation need not be disclosed to you.

Within 30 business days of receiving your request, we will inform you of the nature of the recorded personal information that we have about you. You may review it in person or receive a copy at a reasonable charge. We will identify the persons, institutions or types of institutions to which we have disclosed such information during the two years prior to your request.

After you have reviewed your information, you can contact us if you believe that anything should be corrected or deleted. You should be specific about what information is wrong and why. We will consider your request and notify you that the change has been made or the reason for our refusal, which you will have an opportunity to challenge.

Other Information — You Have a Choice

We are permitted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act to share information about our experiences or transactions with you or your account (such as your insurance policy information) with our corporate affiliates. We also may share additional information about you or your account (such as information we receive from you in applications) with our affiliates. You may direct us not to disclose to our affiliates information that does not relate solely to our experiences or transactions with you or your account (such as the application information or credit bureau information) by “opting-out” as described below.

Your Choice to Limit Marketing

You may limit our affiliates from marketing their products or services to you based on information that we share with them. You decision will remain binding until and unless you notify us of your desire to change that decision.

This limitation does not apply in certain circumstances, such as if you currently do business with one of our affiliates or if you ask to receive information or offers from them. An opt-out direction from you will apply to all of the associated policy holders for the policy numbers you have listed on the Opt-Out form.
